About Us
JAMES & MURPHY PRODUCTIONS' aka Charlene James & Paul Murphy.....came together in 2002 as a production team writing and producing shows for Theatre's, Holiday parks, Adventure Parks, Hotels and Corporate events.
We first started to produce team shows in 1999 for various holiday parks and adventure parks which then later devolped into larger shows for large hotels and themed events.
........But our love is theatre and so in 2009 and 2010 we produced and performed in a run of very successful summer season shows in the South West of England......from this we had an amazing response and have since been asked to produce various shows and events around the country.
Last year we had a very successful year touring the Uk and abroad with our corporate production show 'Parisian Spectacular!! a tribute to the cult film 'Moulin Rouge'
This show is extremely popular once again this year.
As well as writing and producing shows, we also have our own ever popular touring cabaret show 'James & Murphy Live' which we're currently very busy with.
2012 is a very exciting year for us with lots of new projects in the pipeline.... Including the production of our brand new web site 'Spectacular Shows'
A site dedicated to our themed corporate production shows.

Charlene James
Company Manager/Producer
Charlene is originally from Manchester where she trained in Drama and later moved to South Devon to pursue a career in performing.
Since then she has worked for numerous holiday parks and hotels as lead vocalist, choreographer and Entertainments Manager.
She has fronted many top bands and has toured with her own cabaret act, as well as with vocal/dance trio 'Sleek'
In 2002 she and her husband Paul set up 'James & Murphy Productions' and since then has written, produced and starred in such shows as The Wizard of Oz Oliver, Grease Lightnin, Dazzling Disney, Pure Swing, Cinderella, Aladdin, Dick Whittington and many more..
'James & Murphy also have their own vocal duo which they tour with throughout the year and is always in constant demand. She is currently working on a brand new project for 2012...a tribute to her all time hero's, Judy Garland, Julie Andrews and Barbra Streisand.
Charlene has made a number of television appearances for Granada Television, Mersey Television and West Country Television as well as promotional films and numerous radio appearances.
This year she can be seen playing the lead role of 'Santine' in 'Parisian Spectacular' and also 'Fairy Godmother 'in 'Cinderella' at Trevelgue Park in Newquay and 'Saucy Sal' in 'Pirate Spectacular'
Paul Murphy
Company Manager/Producer/Marketing
Paul was born in Torquay and has been performing from a very early age starring in such productions as Guys and Dolls, West Side Story and Carousel etc..
He spent over 16 years working as a Leisure and Entertainments manager for various holiday and Adventure Parks around the South West of England and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it!
In 2002 he and his wife Charlene set up 'James & Murphy Productions' which has gone from strength to strength. With the company he has played such roles as Bill Sykes in Oliver, Danny in Grease, Bert in Dazzling Disney, Dean Martin in Pure Swing, Tin Man and Lion in The Wizard of Oz, Florence (Ugly Sister) in Cinderella and Abanaza in Aladdin.
2009 saw their first theatre production brought to life at the Palace Theatre in Paignton 'Summertime Spectacular' which ran all summer to rave reviews. Here he reprised his role of Bert from Mary Poppins and also got to play one of his favourite characters 'Fagin' from Oliver.
He and Charlene also tour the country with their own cabaret act 'James & Murphy' throughout the year.
Last winter he played the 'Big Bad Wolf' for Wonder Productions 2009/2010 pantomime, and the previous year playing the evil King Rat in Dick Whittington.
During the summer of 2010 Paul reprised his role as King Rat for Cranstars production of 'Dick Whittington' and was busy with vocal cabaret work as well as The Summer Spectacular show in Teignmouths 'Carlton Theatre'..
Paul is now turning his attention to the role of the 'Ringmaster' in ' Parisian Spectacular', One of the 'Ugly Sisters' in Cinderella at Trevelgue Holiday Park, Newquay and 'Captain Jack Swallow' in 'Pirate Spectacular'.

Paula Dawn Kenny
Choreographer
Paula trained at the Arts Educational School in London and the Lladro School of Ballet and has spent over 15 years dancing in top theatre, cabaret and corporate shows both in the UK and abroad.
From Panto to Casino, Cabaret to West End, Paula has enjoyed a full-varied career and is now focusing on her own dance group ‘Destination Dance’ assisted by Helen Pitman.
Helen worked in Spain with Paula for 6 months performing within Casino shows and now assists Paula with additional choreography and anything else that is thrown at her!
Since the start of Destination Dance in 2009 the girls have enjoyed regular bookings in the UK and abroad, as well as their own show, which can be tailored to any occasion to suite any venue.
Destination Dance regularly joins cabarets to form a variety show, a full production show, or just to compliment another act and can provide from 2-6 dancers.
Winners of ‘Best Dance Act 2009’ and elated by fantastic reviews, Destination Dance use only fully trained dancers. Wonderfully costumed they bring high-energy, stylish performances to any venue. ‘The Best Dance Act On The Circuit’
This year Paula is proud to be taking the role of choreographer for 'Spectacular Shows' and her stunning girls will take your breathe away with their sassy and sexy routines.

COSTUME CHARACTERS
We can also write costume character songs for holiday and adventure parks and help to develop a characters profile. From 2007 til 2009 we worked closely with Crealy Adventure Park writing a song for 'Swampy the Swamp Monster' and his very own show 'Swampy's Pirate Adventure'
Throughout 2009 the pirate show moved to Devons Crealy Park and the hero became Crealy Bear...

CABARET
We are also very experienced professional vocalists ourselves and have our own brand new cabaret show for 2010/2011.....
